D940 soft shrink film is a multi-layered, co-extruded, cross linked, polyolefin film.
D940 is ideal for unsupported packages in which package integrity is compromised during the shrink process. It is an excellent choice where low shrink energy, distortion and wrinkle free packages are desired.
Due to the composition of the D940 shrink film, the temperature required to enable the shrink process, is significantly less than competitive films, offering a trouble free shrink package for heat sensitive items.
D940 is a versatile film in regards to the breadth of machine styles and sealing systems. The machinability of the film is unsurpassed in regards to the soft nature of the film, and ensures a smooth transition through inverting heads and forming plows.
D940 is also a healthy alternative to PVC (poly vinyl chloride) films. It is a clean running film, with no smoke or residue, unlike PVC, and does not require special ventilation to be retro-fit around the work station. D940 is non-corrosive and leaves no carbon build up on sealing wires or other parts of the equipment.
D940 is the ideal film for printers, paper converters, products with voids, irregular shaped products, or anywhere where soft shrink is required. D940 conforms to odd shaped packages, which eliminates un-shrunk film causing wrinkles and dog ears.
D940 is also FDA approved, and performs well in any working environment (freezer applications, high temperature environments).
