Pre-stretched hand wrap stretch film is one-third the weight of a standard roll of hand wrap film. As a result, more feet of film is on a standard roll while still being lighter reducing and injuries in high frequency/small load applications.

Lets look at the hard cold facts about stretch wrapping by hand:

• It is the operator who is required to stretch the film (100 –150%) by pulling on the film in order to create the changes in the film required to hold the load together. (see Educate Yourself Section for more details)
• Most operators at best will stretch the film 75% with most getting 10-15% IF ANYTHING AT ALL
• It is very difficult on the operator to perform and often results in injuries and poorly wrapped loads.
• As the corner of the load is used to pull against during the stretch process it often limits the amount of stretch that can be created and thus limits the holding force that can be created.
• As the film has not been stretched to the required minimum amount, the film will continue to stretch instead of hold the load during transit.
• Hand wrap stretch film is thus very inefficient and inconsistent when it comes to load containment.

Prestretched Hand Wrap Stretch Film corrects these inefficiencies

• The stretch film is already prestretched 150% ensuring that the film has transformed into a tougher, stronger film with maximum holding force.
• As the film has already been stretched, the operator can simply apply the film rather than risk injury by having to prestretch it.
• As the load is not used to pull the film to create the stretch, potential damage due to pulling the film is eliminated.
• As the job of prestretching the film is already done then your load will be wrapped with maximum efficiency and consistency.
• The roll of film is lighter making it easier for the operator to handle
• There is more footage to each roll thus dramatically reducing your cost per pallet wrapped.
• Prestretch film in conjunction with a low cost non prestretch stretch wrapper is a fantastic alternative to the high capital expenditure of a prestretch stretch wrapper.
• Excellent in cold temperature environments where stretching the film is nearly impossible due to the cold temp properties. As prestretched film has already gone through that process, you are simply applying the film and not transforming it.
