DuPont Surlyn HP2000 Skin Packing resin

Dupont Surlyn HP2000Are you looking for more efficient ways to skin package large, heavy products? Do you want faster packaging line speeds, source reduction, lower costs, and a thinner, lighter, stronger film - all while maintaining the high package quality and appearance that you get from film made of DuPont Surlyn resin?

If so, DuPont has the resin for you: Surlyn® HP 2000 skin packaging resin. Exclusively for skin packaging large, heavy products, including hardware, auto parts, plumbing supplies and housewares, DuPont™ Surlyn® HP2000 allows you to downgauge film and save significantly on film costs.

One manufacturer of heavy products can save up to 25 percent by downgauging from eight-mil film to six-mil film of Surlyn® HP 2000. Another end-user can save up to 17 percent by using five-mil film of Surlyn® HP 2000 instead of six-mil film.

Surlyn HP2000

This is the film that manufacturers love to hate. Because the film was designed to package heavier items in a thinner gauge, customers are able to downgauge and reduce their film usage and save significant money. HP2000 has greater draw-down strength and tear resistance than Surlyn 1601-2.

This film was introduced in 1994 due to a need for a thinner, lighter, stronger film that could be used for large, heavy products including hardware, housewares, plumbing supplies and auto parts. HP2000 resin absorbs heat faster and speeds up cycle time as much as 20 percent. The films proven abrasion resistance helps maintain top quality package appearance.

As additional benefits, Surlyn® HP 2000 also:

  • Achieves reduction — less film conserves materials, reducing the volume of post-consumer waste.
  • Runs on existing machinery.
  • Speeds up packaging cycle time by 20 percent.
  • Offers excellent draw-down strength.
  • Resists tearing, tampering and abrasion during rough transit and handling.
  • Provides outstanding visual qualities for consumer appeal and superior retail performance.
