Description
The ZED 15-TM Series are high-tech precision heat sealers designed specifically for exacting applications such as the medical device, clinical trial, pharmaceutical and related industries. These units are typically used for the production of finished medical device packages utilizing PET/PVC or similar type thermoformed trays with Tyvek® lidstock for the medical industry (surgical kits, implants, devices, scalpels, tubing, dental, etc.), and can also be used for carded pill packs, clinical trial packaging, unit dose, foil lids, specialty films, conventional carded blister packs and custom sealing. The 15-TM features dual-sided, aluminum precision ball bearing shuttle trays with quick change style tool locating pins (onto which seal tools are simply placed) allowing up to two operators, if so desired, to independently monitor their own production.
15-TMI Impulse Tray Sealer
The model 15-TMI is a high pressure 4-post press type of impulse heat sealer designed specifically for the production of clamshells, two piece blister packages as well as conventional carded blisters. The 15-TMI is available in 14" x 15", 14" x 20" standard seal area sizes, as well as larger sizes as options.
Mechanical
Four-post precision press featuring solid steel platens (ground flat and parallel to .002" TIR); extra long bushings to ensure smooth seal platen motion; welded heavy wall steel frame coated with steel-it or white epoxy paint; precision double acting seal cylinders plumbed to a coalescing exhaust filter or special plumbing for outside exhaust; air filter, regulator and gauge; extra long-life heater; precision ball bearing type aluminum shuttle trays with locating pins for tool placement.
Controls:
PLC controls with MMI touch screen type of operator interface. System provides complete control of the following sealing parameters: digital seal time, seal dwell, seal temperature, special temperature over/under fault alarms, low seal pressure fault alarms, diagnostics, program faults, operational faults, etc. System memory can store job files and provide an on-screen review of the previous 25 cycles.
Operation
- Each operator loads their tray/blister, product and lidstock into the seal tool
- The shuttle is manually rolled into the machine (automated shuttle indexing system available)
- The 2-hand safety interlock start buttons are depressed to initiate the timer controlled automatic cycle
- The tool is then retracted; the finished sealed package(s) removed, and the process repeated.
