Description
The model HST-1614 is a two station shuttle-type machine designed for low to medium volume production of packages requiring simultaneous sealing and hydraulic trimming. A preformed multiple #-up blister sheet is typically used with Tyvek, foil, medical paper and many other types of lidstock, sealed and trimmed into individual packages in one step. The HST-1614 features shuttles on either side, which allows two operators to seal packages alternately using their own seal tools for greater productivity. Typical applications include medical packages/trays, surgical instrument packs, unit dose packs, portion packs, etc. An important feature of this unit is that quick-change seal & trim tools may be manufactured from maple die board, phenolic or aluminum depending upon application requirements. The tooling features seal pad to seal the lidstock to the blister, and steel rule die is used to die cut into individual packages, or perf rule can be used to produce perforations between the parts for tear-apart later.
Operation
The operator loads the blister sheet, product and lidstock into the seal & trim tool, which is then slid into the machine, the 2-hand start buttons are depressed to initiate the timer controlled automatic cycle (seal & trim times are normally 2 - S seconds), the tool is then pulled back (the other operator may now slide their tray into the machine), the finished sealed & trimmed individual packages are removed, and the process is repeated.
