General Purpose Thermoformer
Zed Model L-1

Model L1 - General Purpose Thermoformer and Skin Packer

Description

The model L- 1 is a general purpose vacuum forming machine which utilizes sheet or roll fed thermoplastic material. The standard machine features an up-moving platen and retraction heater, and is available with a number of options including: clamp frames for thin gauge or heavy gauge plastic, top plug assist, etc., to custom tailor this unit to meet actual application requirements. The L-1 is designed for sampling blisters, trays, skin packs, pre-production samples, laboratory work and with the addition of some of the options, it is capable of production runs.

Operation

The model L-1, with the options, operates as follows: Plastic sheet is placed in the clamp frame and the clamp frame is locked, the two-hand start buttons are depressed (to initiate the tinier controlled automatic cycle), the heater moves out over the plastic and is timed to prepare the sheet for forming, the heater then moves back to the insulated staging area and the platen (with form tool mounted to it), moves up into the sheet, optional plug assist if needed, is used, the part is then formed, allowed to cool, the platens retract, the finished formed part may then be removed, and the process repeated.
